Zelle Hofmann is lead counsel for all 9/11 claims for one of the world's largest insurance companies. In this role, Zelle Hofmann was one of the lead counsel in all aspects of the multi-billion dollar property and business interruption insurance claims made by the World Trade Center's owners, Silverstein Properties and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In the Silverstein matter, Zelle Hofmann's representation included a two-month jury trial, appeals and a multi-year contested appraisal of the value of the insured loss. The Silverstein matter was resolved in mid-2007 after intensive settlement negotiations involving New York Governor Elliot Spitzer and New York's Insurance Superintendent.

Zelle Hofmann's involvement continues with respect to the Port Authority's 9/11 World Trade Center claim. In addition, with Zelle Hofmann's assistance, numerous other 9/11 claims have been successfully resolved out of court, while others have been litigated or resolved through contested appraisal proceedings.
